Syntactic Foam Blocks

A Wide Range of Densities for Each Depth and Requirement Down to Very Deepwater

All references can be used for offshore, naval defense and ocean applications. These below meet the needs of these sectors.

Standards Blocks

For each depth or application, BMTI offers several ranges of references, advised by our team of experts to help you make the right choice (technically and price-wise).

BMTI delivers a full range of advanced epoxy-based syntactic foams engineered for critical subsea operations—from subsea vehicles to permanent deepwater structures.
Designed for use at depths up to 12,000 meters, BMTI’s materials combine low density, high mechanical strength, and long-term reliability under extreme pressure and environmental conditions.

High-Performance Foams for Demanding Environments

ALSEAMAR offers a complete range of advanced technical foams, each designed to meet the specific challenges of subsea applications — from surface to ultra-deep depths.

Macrosphere Foam

This foam combines large fiber spheres embedded with epoxy resin, providing an excellent balance between low density and mechanical strength. Ideal for buoyancy applications and large volume buoyancy parts.

Pure Syntactic Foam

Syntactic foam is composed of hollow glass microspheres embedded in a solid resin matrix. It offers extreme pressure resistance combined with the lightweight densities in the harshest environments.

Insulation Foam Blocks

BMTI advanced insulation materials are designed to operate reliably at depths up to 4,000 meters and withstand service temperatures up to 140°C, making them ideal for deepwater flow assurance and subsea thermal insulation applications:

  • High glass transition temperature (Tg 110°C to 140°C) for structural integrity under heat
  • Excellent thermal stability under high hydrostatic pressure
  • High compressive strength
  • Superior hot-wet resistance, preventing water ingress and thermal degradation
  • Optimized for use with composite layers

High Thermal Grade

density tolerance from ±20 kg/m3

Fire Resistant Grade

density tolerance from ±40 kg/m3
