ALSEAMAR obtains DNV Certification

An achievement for ALSEAMAR

ALSEAMAR, a global leader in the design and manufacture of syntactic foam for underwater vehicle buoyancy, proudly announces its DNV (Det Norske Veritas) certification, achieved in July 2024. This certification highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and industry standards.

DNV is the recognized authority for certifying suppliers capable of producing equipment for deep-sea vehicles, including ROVs, AUVs, and Trenchers. In the highly demanding buoyancy market for manned submarines, only those who meet stringent requirements, like ALSEAMAR, are qualified by DNV.

ALSEAMAR’s proprietary syntactic foams, developed by its BMTI division, deliver unmatched performance. With ultra-low densities and exceptional mechanical strength, these foams are produced using high-specification hollow glass microspheres and a rigid, high-strength resin system. This combination ensures optimal buoyancy while addressing the weight challenges of seabed exploration.

The DNV certification unlocks new opportunities in the manned submarine sector, allowing ALSEAMAR to cater to both current contracts and future developments aimed at deep-sea exploration. This breakthrough positions the company to meet the growing demand for advanced buoyancy solutions, impacting the subsea industry significantly.

“The certification is a testament to our rigorous production process, which ensures strict quality control and traceability at every stage. With a comprehensive system in place, we guarantee that each product complies with the highest standards, ensuring both transparency and safety for our customers,” said the Manager of the BMTI business at ALSEAMAR.

This achievement reinforces ALSEAMAR’s position as a trusted partner in the subsea industry, underlining its dedication to excellence and customer satisfaction.
