ALSEAMAR successfully carried out the Dragoon Fury mission in partnership with the French Navy.

This large-scale mission, carried out over a period of 12 days, tested the ability of the SEAEXPLORER, a glider with thrusters, to navigate with discretion and precision over a long distance of up to 100 nautical miles, simulating complex operational conditions.

The Dragoon Fury exercice was structured into four distinct phases, each designed to validate the SEAEXPLORER’s navigation, endurance and stealth capabilities in demanding underwater environments.
The main objective of this experiment was to demonstrate that the SEAEXPLORER is capable of travelling long distances while minimising its acoustic signature, and of maintaining high-precision navigation while operating in shallow water.

The glider demonstrated its ability to realign itself  during night navigation, proving its stability over long distances. The SEAEXPLORER navigated with great precision. Without a thruster, it performed delicate manoeuvres in shallow water, landing accurately throughout the mission.

This Dragoon Fury exercice marked a key stage in the Navy’s use of the SEAEXPLORER. It demonstrated not only its ability to operate in extreme conditions, but also its precision and endurance over long distances, while remaining unobtrusive.
For the first time, the SEAEXPLORER has completed such a long underwater transfer, without ever surfacing, while maintaining precise control over its trajectory.
